Slick center XPLR SLICK tire built for dry gravel speed and aero performance

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"If you're racing or just trying to go as fast as possible on dry gravel, this tire delivers. The center slick flies, and the compound gives great grip when it counts. Installation took a bit of patience, but once it's on, it transforms how fast your setup feels."

Created for high-speed gravel performance, the Goodyear/Zipp XPLR SLICK Tubeless Tire is the final piece of Zipp’s performance-driven XPLR system. Optimized for Zipp’s 303 XPLR S and SW rims, the XPLR SLICK reduces rolling resistance while maintaining control in a range of dry and hardpack conditions. The true slick centerline rolls fast and efficiently, while the lightly textured shoulders provide bite through curves and cambered gravel surfaces.

Goodyear’s Dynamic:UHP compound adds durability and grip, tuned for extended wear and confident traction at high speeds. Meanwhile, the supple casing soaks up trail vibrations for a smoother, more controlled ride. M:Wall protection in the sidewalls shields against cuts and impact damage, supporting lower pressures on rough terrain. Dual Angle Beads ensure a secure tubeless seal with a clean interface against Zipp’s wide internal rim profiles.

This tire is ideal for dry gravel races, long mixed-surface endurance rides, or anyone seeking maximum aero advantage on firm terrain. Paired with a precision wheelset, the XPLR SLICK becomes a speed weapon for gravel athletes.

Very hard to install. And I gave up.

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

Found it is extremely hard to install the tire on Zipp 303 XPLR SW wheels. I installed quite a few tires recently on quite a few wheels. And none of them are as hard as this one. Not even close. There are three steps to install a tire: 1. put the wheel in between two tire beads, 2. install first bead, 3. install the second bead. Normally only the last step is challenging. But for this tire which I bought two, I can't complete the step 2 on one, and can't do step 1 on the other after lost 3 fingerprints on my hand. Never see this before. I start to doubt if this tire is truly developed with the wheels as they claimed. I won't say this is purely caused by this tire (the wheel is very wide), but since it only works with 303 XPLR, I had to return it. Schwalbe g one rs fixed my problem.
