Force AXS Shift-Brake System combines responsive control with ergonomic comfort

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"SRAM really nailed the hood redesign here. The fit is noticeably better, especially for smaller hands, and the brake feel is way more responsive with less hand strain. I’m also a fan of the Bonus Buttons—it’s a clever way to expand control without cluttering the cockpit."

Whether we’re sprinting for the line or descending at full speed, the SRAM Force AXS Shift-Brake System keeps us in control with confidence and precision. Redesigned based on years of rider feedback, this system delivers a lighter lever feel, reduced hand fatigue, and powerful one-finger braking from any position on the bar. The optimized hood shape accommodates more hand sizes than ever, with textured surfaces that enhance grip no matter the conditions.

eTap’s intuitive shift logic makes gear changes simple and predictable, while the AXS platform gives us total wireless integration and tunability. Bonus Buttons bring additional shift or device control to the cockpit, streamlining functionality without adding clutter. Bleeding Edge technology ensures fast, clean brake maintenance when the ride is done. From the first pull to the final stop, Force AXS redefines control at every contact point.

Huge Improvements over old Rival

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I have put around 12-13k miles on the old 12 speed Rival AXS hoods/brakes. Now if you did not know any better you would think they are pretty solid...however, the new E1 Force blows it out of the water by miles. The new shape is perfect for holding on and I can find a perch that is comfortable for hours. The ligthtness and smoothness of the levers is crazy. Truly one finger braking, whether up that the tops or in the drops when descending. Power levels are much more impressive, great for gravel or road use. The new lever shape is also something to talk about. It just works! The bonus buttons are better than on the new RED, and I am happy about that. I love using it to change screens on my Wahoo ACE and keeps things safe when descending or if I am sweating out of my eyes and do not have the bandwidth to move my hands. The brakes stop properly when bedded in and are super quiet with paceline rotors. Pairs up in a jiff with AXS ecosystem. If you have been debating on whether or not to change. Let this be your sign!
