Why We Like The 2FO DH Flat Mountain Bike Shoe
When Specialized set out to design a downhill mountain bike shoe, they did it with the intention to provide comfortable, all-day riding, but they also kept post-ride fun in mind. Thanks to a platform design, the 2FO DH Flat Mountain Bike Shoes are great for wear on and off the bike. A relaxed fit ensures pedal feel and off-bike comfort. They're constructed with SlipNot 2.0 rubber compound for the grippiest rubber we've seen from the brand, and the shoes are optimized for complete pedal connection. Everything from the internal booties to the air mesh tongue and cushioned EVA midsole is designed for comfort. An engineered lug pattern is designed to specifically integrate with pedal pins, and a smooth Thermo bonded upper offers a snag-free profile and additional durability. We like that these shoes are designed to withstand the wear and tear of trail life. They're designed with captured foam in the upper to protect your feet from impacts, and the EVA midsole is sealed with a protective skin for support and tear resistance.

Great Shoe
First Specialized shoe purchase in a LONG time. Specialized has always made some great footwear...Just haven't bought this brand in years. Quality shoe. Nice fit and finish. Sole is perfect stiffness...Not too stiff...Not too bendy. Sole traction is awesome. Has not been too soft and is not showing wear and "chunking", or any pedal pin damage. Upper is excellent...Didn't miss not having BOA system or velcro straps...Just old-school laces work awesome. Toe box is roomy...Front-of-shoe-wrap around toe cap is excellent. All in all...A solid, well made shoe. I purchase a half size up. Fit and width were spot on. My feet are a bit on the narrow side. Liked the larger toe box. Heel stays planted in shoe. Ankle support and protection are good. I wear with medium thickness socks.

Durable

This is my second pair of 2FO DH Flats. Only reason I bought a 2nd pair is to get a different color. They have been super durable. My two riding buddies both use that other super popular brand, and they've gone through multiple pairs, while mine are still holding up, are still pretty stiff, and the soles are amazingly in good shape. Speaking of the soles, they are almost too grippy! I use them with OneUp flat pedals.

Very good grip with a weird fit.

I am using these shoes with some deftrap pedals. The grip is outrageous. I have used five tens and the grip on the 2fo shoes is better. You have to take your foot off the pedal completely to move your foot even a little. This itales some getting used to. The fit is odd. They feel cylindrical unlike the typical skate type shoe I’m used to. The length is correct but they are narrow. The sole is extremely stiff but they may soften over time.

Bought these for regular mtb and road riding with flat pedals. The sole is very grippy and work great!

Not True to Size.
This shoe is a full 1/2" shorter then the Specialized chart indicates. I might be able to use it except it is also insanely narrow for some reason. Unless you have little rocket feet stay away from this product without being able to try it on first. It is also not returnable as it clearly states "All Final Sales" on my receipt.

Made my endurance runs more comfortable and increased my speed. Rubber compound a little soft and damaged on first ride by Race Face Ride 100% plastic pedals.

Comfortable for riding only, not to walk around, hardcore solid shoes, exactly what I was looking for, been riding for a month and loving it.

Run really small
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
They run over a size small. I'd return them but Backcountry wants to charge me. Epic fail of a purchase - a product I can't use and a store that's charging for a return.

Wish I would’ve bought these sooner.

Been using the FiveTen Freeriders for a while now and decided I wanted to change it up a bit and see what else was out there. These were on a pretty big deal so I pulled the trigger. The bottom sole is so rigid you can’t bend them at all except for near the toe. Literally no foot fatigue whatsoever which was a problem I had frequently with the Freeriders. They say there’s some special sole technology that helps pedaling efficiency but I haven’t really seen that at all. They’re comfortable, they grip like glue, and they look great. Very happy with the purchase.
