This hot wax chain blend consists of a high concentration of 3 nano-scale Tungsten disulfide and highly refined paraffin. The Secret Chain Blend not only acts as a lubricant but also modifies the surface of the chain by filling the metal with wear-resistant tungsten disulfide particles. As the only hot wax to match the compatible drip wax, topping off the wax to your chain as needed extends the duration needed between applications and ensures a super quiet drivetrain.

Stop using the old method

If you ride a decent amount you’ll enjoy the time savings and cleanliness of hot wax over drip wax or wet lube. Heating the bag in a stove top pot is easy and doesn’t require additional items.

Is there Any Other Wax?

Benchmark for waxing your chain. You CAN use the bag as the method to dip your chain into (which is pretty great) - but it requires you to melt ALL the wax - increasing the time to melt. I hands down love the chainwax system that Silca has to offer.

Extremely long chain break in Duraace 12

Beware of very long break in period when starting with a new DA 12 speed chain (not an issue with my 11 speed, may have something to do with the coatings). Stiff chain and skipping cog for 1 hour. 11T still skipping under load for 3.5-4 hours.

Nice clean way to lube your drivetrain

Waxing a chain seemed like overkill and a hassle but I'm really glad I switched over to wax. I don't know if I'm any faster but my drive train is much quieter. Not having a dirty chain is a big plus and I don't have to worry about lubing my chain on regular basis. Most of my rides are on dry gravel so having a dry lube chain works for me. I'm thinking about keeping a wet chain around as a backup for those times when I'm riding in wet and/or muddy conditions.
