Sidi used to make “normal” sized shoes back in the days of ergo2/3. But since then, their shoes have been narrow, too narrow for me. Not until these shoes, has Sidi made a decent fitting shoes for me. Did I mention, these are not “wide” shoes? But yet, they will accommodate people with wide feet. How wide a foot? I’m not sure. I don’t normally wear wide shoes but since I started my cycling shoe search many years ago, it feels like only a wider cycling shoe will feel comfortable. Hiking boots, normal width, sneakers (puma/nike), the same. Look, I’ll save you some grief. I must have tried every wide cycling shoe except for lake and these are the best fitting, most comfortable and best looking cycling shoes bar none. Shimano, Fiziks, and a bunch of others. Only specialized torch was wide enough but only the vent model, but they didn’t last ( after a walk when my rear derailleur snapped. The bottoms started to delaminate). These clamp down and hold your feet in without crushing the widest parts of your foot. The knit sides, have lots of give and flow large amounts of air. You can easily tell what color socks I’m wearing through the knit parts. The heel cup is very nice! Its well padded and holds your heel in with little raised rubber dots. Also, the parts (buckles/straps) are easily swapable (I swapped out the white for orange buckles). If you buy the white color (I don’t care for white but I wanted a change from black) and get tire rub on the toe by accident, it cleans up pretty nicely with a little soap and water. Use an alcohol wife if the mark doesn’t come off. But try not to do that as I’m sure if done hard enough it will leave a permanent mark. Everything else is pure Sidi. The only thing I wish Sidi did better was to have more colors available. If Sidi ever gets smart, they would incorporate the knit material across all their models. They would surely win back lost customers and gain a large following as they once had. They already have the name and the reputation for making quality, stylish and functional cycling shoes. Why not complete the circle and make shoes that fit more people? Get this shoe if you have wide feet or if you find cycling shoes in your proper size tight. Your search may be over. Special thanks to Competitive cyclist! They are a great company to buy your cycling gear from.
