This system blends the top-tier power of the BR-M8220 caliper with the refined ergonomics and consistency of the BL-M8200 lever—creating one of Shimano’s most advanced and reliable trail brake packages yet.

Engineered to maximize power, control, and silence on technical terrain, the BR-M8220 caliper uses a two-piece alloy body and four pistons to deliver DH-caliber braking force with refined modulation. The caliper is compatible with both resin and metal pads, with or without cooling fins, allowing riders to tune braking response and heat management to their needs.

The paired BL-M8200 lever features Shimano’s latest SERVO WAVE curve for a more natural power progression, a closer pivot point for better ergonomics, and a low-viscosity fluid for temperature-stable performance.
