Why We Like The Osprey Farpoint 40 Travel Pack
Made for hostel hoppers, globe trotters, and adventure travelers, the Farpoint 40 is a streamlined travel pack that Osprey has tricked out with technical features from its legendary backpacking lineup. We can wear it like a backpacking pack with a ventilated Airscape backpanel and adjustable frame that transfers the load from the harness to the hipbelt for safe and comfortable carry. The frame and hipbelt are both stowable to fit easily into overhead bins and train racks or safely check our luggage.

Fits True To Size

The Farpoint travel backpack is generally well-received for its comfort, durability, and functionality. Customers praise the adjustable straps and back panel, as well as the clamshell design and packing cubes that aid organization. However, some express concerns about the laptop compartment's lack of padding and the limited internal pockets. While most find it to be a high-quality, versatile travel bag, a few feel the recent redesign was not an improvement.

Love this pack. The space
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this pack. The space is amazing I traveled Europe just out of this bag together with my mother. She had the women's version and we both found that the weight was so easy to carry. The pack is super adjustable and has just such great build quality. Osprey really stands behind their product and puts their customers first! I plan to own many more Osprey packs and my mom and I will be using our packs for a long time to come. We also will be getting these for the rest of our family as well. They are so good for travel. The stow away straps when your are getting on public transport or tucking your bag in the overhead storage on the plane. The full clamshell design is amazing you can access the bag super easy when you arrive at a hostel or hotel and if you have packing cubes or another system you can stay extremely organized. This pack has all of the accessibility but is still secure because of the cinch straps in the back. The adjustability made the pack fit me just perfectly and helps carry the weight so well as I mentioned. The only thing that I don't like about this pack is the laptop sleeve. I just personally have no use for it right now and I wish that it was something that could be removed or put in when needed. I also wish that there was way that you could run a water bladder hose through the pack somewhere. Overall I absolutely love this pack and it has served me so well I use it almost daily as a go bag / home base between work gym and other activities. I love this pack it has converted me to Osprey!

Aweseome. Its a great backpack,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Aweseome. Its a great backpack, its carry on size, and everthing you could need. They honored the warrantee and sent me another when the frame was damaged. This is the move over the 55 which is a more minimal version of this backpack + another 15ltr day pack. This main backpack has more compartments and is more useful, especially when paired with a different day pack of your chosing,

Did the job
Overall, the bag does what it says on the tin. Used for 4 weeks of travel. Could have done with a few small internal pockets/compartments for better organisation of smaller items but worked well with packing cubes.

One Week Trip To Maui
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Packed this bag for a week-long trip to Maui and used it as a carry-on with Hawaiian Airlines—no issues at all. It easily fit all my clothes with extra space for souvenirs on the way back. Even fully loaded, it was incredibly comfortable to carry through the airport. The straps and back panel are hands-down the most comfortable setup I’ve ever used. At 6'4", most bags tend to sit awkwardly or create pressure points, but this one fit perfectly and eliminated all that usual discomfort.

Bring back the Side Strap.
Great product. But please add the side strap back to the back like the old version has. It is very convenient to be able to quickly sling the the over your shoulder quickly and be hands free. Also needs a smaller pocket inside, a key clip in the toiletry pocket , and an exterior open top pocket for magazines, paperwork, tickets, etc.

Camino Buddy
Fantastic sack. Used it on the Camino de Santiago Ingles. Faultless. Fitted in a great amount of kit with ease. Not the lightest but top quality zips and materials with the added advantage of suit case opening and two handles. Straps zip away for travel. Shoulder straps and hip belt all excellent quality and fully adjustable. I am 180cm and 100kg with a heavy (not fat) build and fully loaded this was very comfy and once on and adjusted could not feel it at all. Overall I was thrilled with this sack and its features and quality.

Farpoint
Well made and nice features. It works for me as an overnight bag, but the backpack straps take up a significant amount of the volume.

Seems like great quality. I
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems like great quality. I don't like that the hip straps can't be tucked away if I just want to use the shoulder straps.
