Ultra-light impact protection for rear derailleurs with the Cage Guard upgrade
The MRP Cage Guard is a simple upgrade that packs serious protection into a featherlight package. Made from precision-machined Delrin thermoplastic, it attaches directly to the lower pulley cage of select SRAM and Shimano derailleurs to help deflect trail impacts and extend the life of expensive components. At just 8 grams, it adds almost no weight but significantly reduces the risk of rock-induced derailleur failure.
The Cage Guard is available in three model-specific versions: the T-Type model fits SRAM’s S1000, GX, X0, XX, and XXSL wireless rear derailleurs; the XT 8100 version fits Shimano’s SGS cage XT derailleur; and the XTR 9100 version works with both short (GS) and long cage (SGS) setups. Its low-friction material helps it glide over obstacles rather than hang up, and the clean bolt-on design means no frame interference or complicated installs.
