Why We Like The IXS Trigger X Mips Helmet
IXS is back with an extended coverage half-shell version of their beloved Trigger helmet. Part half-shell, part full-face helmet, the Trigger X Mips Helmet is an open-face helmet with extended coverage at the back and sides of the head for increased protection without compromising the fit and feel of a half-shell. The Trigger X features a double in-mold polycarbonate shell for a great strength-to-weight ratio, and impact foam combined with Mips technology ensures we are protected in the event of a crash. The Ergo Fit Ultra dial adjustment system in the rear of the helmet provides us with a secure and fast fitment, while the adjustable visor allows us to rest our goggles on top of our helmet when we are climbing back to the top.

Great Looking, Big on Protection, But...
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- Small
This Trigger is pretty close to the Dropframe it replaced in protection and features. Comp Cyclist is an easy company to do business with so I took a chance. Overall, the fit was good, and it's built very well. The big downfall is the lack of comfort with the sides that protect the ears and jaw. It's way too tight (imo), and that pressure creates headaches on my 56cm head. Fox gave me pressure on the front, but this was intolerable.
