Here's what customers have to say

This smart scale is easy to use and integrates with a companion app, allowing users to track weight and other metrics over time. The scale is generally accurate and reliable, though the black color may show water spots and dirt more easily. Overall, this is a solid product that provides useful data and tracking capabilities.

Better than Fitbit

This is easier to use than either of the Fitbit scales that I own, but I'm disappointed that this must be connected to wifi. I should have done more research to discover that it is not able to connect via the Garmin app and bluetooth. I live in the country and my only option is terribly slow and expensive satellite internet. I try not to connect anything to it unless absolutely necessary to preserve as much bandwidth as possible. (LPT: when buying a house, don't just assume that you'll have access to decent internet. Do your research!)

Super scale

It's nice to have to have back data to see trends. Super simple to use.

Fickle to set up, but worth it when you get it

Important Note: The Garmin website shows this item as FSA/HSA eligible. However, you have to have a doctor’s note declaring that the scale medically necessary for a specific condition. At least that is the case for FSA. The scale is very sensitive when switching between users. The directions are not clear. But you actually need to step off and then tap until you see your name/initials. Then it starts to sync. We also had trouble getting it to recognize our WiFi. I finally just switched to make my husband the primary “owner” and then added myself. Once your figure out the nuances, it’s very convenient and easy to use. I love all the extra data you get from the scale, not just weight.

Solid Scale with good data

We've had an Index S2 scale for quite a few years now. Makes it easy to track body composition data, in particular, trends in any direction. Set-up can be a little fiddly - make sure the first person to step on the scale is the one who owns the master Garmin account.

Good tool!

I like the scale but find the only downside is that it doesn’t stay paired with my phone. Could be user error but it seems to happen a lot.

Disappointment

I work as a truck driver. I use a Garmin Fenix 7X watch and decided to buy an Index S2 scale. A big and unpleasant surprise for me was that the scale cannot be synchronized with a smartphone and watch via Bluetooth. Since I rarely have access to Wi-Fi networks due to my work, the scale turned out to be completely unsuitable. Most likely, I will return it to the store. The rest of the functions work like on regular smart scales.

It does what it needs to

I was really looking forward to upgrading from my 2011 Withings smart scale to the Garmin. Unfortunately, I'm finding the scale kind of a pain. Having to tape it 10 times to wake it up is annoying. It's never easy to simply get on and get a quick reading. The Connect ecosystem is also lacking - not necessarily a problem specific to this scale but the entire Garmin line. I was sending all of my body metrics from my old, 2011 scale to a google sheet seamlessly tracking in a meaningful way. Using some advanced AI I was able to find a way to sort of do this with the Garmin scale but the squeeze is not worth the juice; so I'm still using the other scale to get my data out of Connect and into Sheets where I can do something with it. Sharing the scale with my wife is also a chore. It was really easy with the old scale but with the Garmin it's quite a process. Overall, I would not recommend the scale simply because of how annoying it is to get a reading. Otherwise, it has a nice display that is clear and easy to read and it was relatively easy to setup for my own use.

Garmin -Index S2 Smart Scale

This is the smartest most mindless scale I have ever owned. I set it up a year ago. I just slide it under my bookcase and when it is time for a reading I just slip and out and Bang. Reports directly with my Garmin Account.
