Why We Like The Garmin fenix 8 AMOLED Sapphire Sport Watch

Whatever plateau we're breaking through, Garmin's fenix 8 AMOLED Sapphire Sport Watch is tracking and driving our every step. The bomber, submersible construction meets the moxie required for rugged terrain and technical pursuits, while the heart rate, ECG, and blood oxygen saturation metrics clue us in to how our body is handling the demands. With 145 hours of juice in max battery GPS mode, this watch outlasts the sun time and time again, while the built-in LED flashlight comes to save the day when our headlamp flickers out. However deep into the backcountry we go, the SatIQ tech keeps our position locked in without draining the battery.

Here's what customers have to say

The smartwatch is praised for its reliable performance, accurate tracking, long battery life, and bright display. Users describe it as a fantastic and capable device, particularly for athletes and active individuals. However, some users have experienced issues with the watch crashing, syncing difficulties, and problems with the watch faces and data fields. A few reviewers also felt the watch was overly complicated and not worth the high price. Overall, the smartwatch delivers on most of its promises, but a small number of users have encountered software and functionality problems.

Great, need iMessage

Great product. Actually works while swimming, strength training, and work. It was be better if I could get my iMessage so I don’t have to have my phone with me all the time. Only flaw I see so far. We will see how the golf app goes this Saturday.

Incredible watch with some irritating flaws

The watch itself is just beautiful. However, some flaws are making me reconsider my purchase. Number one, which is a complaint across many forums, is the dimming of the display in different light conditions. At night, sometimes to see it you have to shine it under a light to get the display to brighten up. For the price of the watch, we should be able to adjust this manually. Also, the weather is always 3 to 5° out of sync. For some, this isn’t a big deal but being in Arizona it is critical. Again, for the price of the watch, I should be able to set the interval that it checks the weather. Sleep tracking is a bit flawed. If I get up more than twice to urinate at night, it thinks I’m awake and doesn’t calculate the right sleep times. Others have reported that they will be driving down the road and an alert will pop up saying how was your nap? All of these complaints can be viewed on the fenix eight Facebook group with 43,000 members. I got really tired of my Apple Watch and its battery life. But I had none of these issues with that watch.

Genarlly a very good watch

When it works it's great but it also has some bugs. Every month or so it won't synchronize with my phone using the sleep/body battery. Not sure which side is the problem but have to delete and relink to fix. Linking is also painful requiring 3 or 4 attempts before it will properly connect even though the phone is a foot away. Recently updated to Samsung 25 and the bug remains) Also annoying that their flagship watch won't link with the CT-1 club sensors requiring you to spend hundreds more for that functionality (or in my case - not).

WoW! This thing does a LOT!!!

The Good stuff: The fit is way more comfortable than I thought possible It looks nice out of the box but a bit intimidating Battery life is great & it is easy to change, so far Not too heavy for my liking but it feels good & solid Now the Bad parts: This is the first "Smart-Watch" I have bought & holy crap has it been a huge long learning curve The "instructoral videos" on your website are of little help Very pricey! Can not use FSA funds to purchase

Pretty good

Bought this 3vweeks ago. Everything worked great for 2 weeks. Now when my phone rings it doesn't on the watch. I've gone through every setting every restart procedure tried everything. Tried contacting garmen and figured its just not worth the time anymore. Besides this the watch is amazing. Very confortable really great monitoring. When strength training in the gym, 80% of the time it know what movement I'm doing. Very good at tracking steps, oxygen, sleep, calories, i like the body battery. I'd say its pretty good

Great updates to the Fenix.

This is my third Fenix. The updates on the 8 are great. It was easy to upload music through the app. GPS has been very accurate. The battery lasts longer than my 6. I like all the health data that it gives. Lots of sports options available.

Awesome watch!

Got this as a gift. A huge upgrade from the vevofit 3 I had for like 7 years. I just wish she for me the bigger size so I can Read the display easier and battery would last longer. This lasts 10 days. Which is good, but not like the 30 says on larger models. The screen is so sharp and colorful. But it is a nice regular watch size and I love it.

Love this watch - does everything I need

I had the Garmin Fenix 5 for 9 years and loved it and finally upgraded to the Fenix 8 and am really glad I did. The features are great - everything I need and it is really easy to use and great interface. Kudos to Garmin.
