Why We Like The 38 Air Shaft

When an air shaft cracks it means we can't use the fork anymore, luckily Fox Racing has an easy Fox 38 Air Shaft replacement. This air shaft fits right where the old one used to be and it's manufactured to original OEM specs to work just like the old one did.

Defective

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Ran perfectly for the first 2 rides. Middle of my 3rd ride, the fork sucked down to about 60-70% static sag. Since I was just outside the 30 day return window, CC told me I'd have to work with Fox directly. Fox requires you to pay for shipping and "pre-approve" a service charge, although they may determine your item as a warranty and repair/replace it. Air shafts sucking down are commonly caused by too much grease that plugs up the equalization ports, so I purchased additional tools and serviced the air shaft myself. Reinstalled, but on the first ride the fork sucked down again. Removed the air shaft yet again and went back to my trusty 160mm air shaft. Now I have new tools to service Fox 38 air shafts, have done 4 fork services in the last 2 weeks, and I have a new Fox 38 air shaft that still doesn't work. (Image: Top air shaft is the new one that's sucked down. Bottom is a functioning air shaft.)
