Why We Like The Five Ten Trailcross Clip-In Cycling Shoe
With the Five Ten Trailcross Clip-In Cycling Shoe, we don't have to sacrifice off-the-bike grip for on-bike control when we head out on the trail. When the trail gets tough or too steep, and we have to hike our bike, the Stealth Marathon rubber outsole adds ample grip, ensuring we're not slipping around on loose, rocky terrain. The 2-bolt cleat-compatible design gives us a highly efficient pedal stroke every time, while the EVA midsole helps soak up big drops and trail chatter.

Here's what customers have to say
The product received mixed reviews. Many found the shoes comfortable, breathable, and durable, with good grip and stability. However, some reported issues like lack of padding, laces digging in, and the shoes feeling too narrow or tight. The consensus is that the shoes are suitable for biking but may not be the most comfortable for extended wear or walking.

Great sneaker with recessed clip.
From the perspective of someone having worn Chrome Industries Truk Pros for 10+ years: A significant difference is breathability. These Five Tens breathe so much better. It's feature that can't be understated. Another significant difference is the how far recessed the clip is. These Five Tens are nowhere near as recessed as the Truks. It has me concerned that the sole will wear away and the clip will be exposed much sooner than was the case with the Chromes. Another significant difference is the underfoot placement of the clip. I had to push the clip all the way to the front and still couldn't get it far enough forward. I'd prefer that the clip be able to move at least another centimeter to the front of the shoe. As a result, I'm having to adjust to clipping in all over again and I'm not getting the right feel when riding. This annoyance may dissipate over time, but for now I endure. My overall feeling is that these are great. Not necessarily an upgrade to the Truks, but a lateral move trading pros for cons and cons for pros.

good
I bought the Five Ten Trailcross Clip-In Mountain Bike Shoes 2 years ago, and honestly, I’m impressed by how well they’ve held up. After all this time, they still look fresh and feel solid, even after countless rides and tough trails. The grip is strong, the materials are durable, and the clip-in system performs smoothly with my pedals. They’re comfortable enough for all-day rides, yet stiff enough to transfer power efficiently when I need it. The shoes have struck the perfect balance between robustness and flexibility — ideal for both hardcore trails and casual rides. I’m really happy I chose these; they’ve been worth every penny and continue to serve me well. Highly recommended!

Breezy
If you live somewhere with 90+ degree weather all summer, you know that most mountain bike shoes are not made for breathability aside from XC shoes which are in general better ventilated. These are a great option for hot weather riding. I think they could apply a lot of the engineering of this show to the hellcat pro and make a knockout trail shoe. The lacing is much more effective on shoes with flexible uppers than typical mountain bike shoes that have become like stiff plastic over the past 10 years. Runs long... I bought a half size down (11 vs 11.5) after trying my normal size.

Uncomfortable, dig into feet
Very uncomfortable, no padding around the feet. You can feel them dig in and can feel the shoe laces as well. I was excited about the idea of a mountain biking shoe that would also be easy to walk/hike in...unfortunately these ended up being a waste of money, even at 50% off. Barely suitable for a short ride, let alone a long one. I don't have wide feet either, and they seem a little small in the toe box. Every other pair of Adidas I've had have been great (which are plenty) but definitely not these.
