Enve SES AR Handlebar
If we look at road bikes from yesteryear, everything aspect feels narrower, confined: skinny 23mm tires, narrow handlebars, rim brakes. As road bike use has evolved to include both fresh tarmac and chip-seal backroads, so has design to match with wider tires, disc brakes and all-road touch points. Designed for the modern road bike, ENVE's SES AR Handlebar brings their noteworthy carbon construction and innovative design to an all-road flared handlebar, with aerodynamics in mind.
ENVE took cues from both their SES Aero Handlebar and Gravel Series Handlebar in creating the SES AR. With a flat top section and internal routing, the aero shaping helps wind move smoothly over the bar to save your energy as you hammer down the straights. The 23.5mm drop flare is a narrower, more peloton-friendly flare, than the G-Series bars, while providing the stability and confidence we need for all-road riding. Paired with the standard drop and reach, the shape provides ergonomic access to brake levers and shifters as needed.

I just swapped out my SES Aero bars for these and I love the shape of the drops. I normally spend 95% of my time on the hoods, but my first "real" ride (74 miles) on them had a pretty solid headwind and I ended up living in the drops for long stretches. They fit my hands perfectly and the flare was just perfect. My wrists felt relaxed and my palms were well supported. The channels for routing the cables meant that my older frame could have smooth routing for my mechanical drivetrain and rim brakes almost as if they were inside the bar. This was true of the Aero bars too, but the vibration damping was great! A lot of my rides are on chip-seal and garbage pavement and this bar along with the Enve tape were very effective at taming the chatter. I'm very pleased!

Swapped these out for the stock bars on my 2021 Roubaix Pro and love them. The Roubaix Pro's Future Shock 2.0 and the bike's ability to take up to 33mm tires makes it a worthy ride on rough pavement and fire roads. These Enve bars are perfect for riding tarmac and dirt/gravel. Great control on descents, as well. Worth every penny.
