"When temps are high, these are my go-to shorts. I love how light and stretchy the fabric is."Gearhead® Expert Jo
Drawing inspiration from the miles of sandstone trail right in our backyard, our Backcountry Slickrock 9in Bike Shorts are built for hot weather rides that demand maximum mobility. The lightweight, 4-way stretch fabric helps wick away moisture to keep us dry on our all-day singletrack adventures, and laser cut ventilation along the inner thigh gives us some extra airflow when the pace and the temps start to climb.

Not the same sizing as Slickrock pant!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Shouldn’t have assumed that the waist sizing would be the same in the pant and short version, even though that’s what would make sense. Item was a final sale and unfortunately is too small. Shop won’t exchange even though they have the exact same short

My first mnt biking shorts. They run small so size up but I liked the material, the length and the waist band. Super comfy to bike in. I won't go back!

Runs SMALL!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I usually wear a size large in pants, *occasionally* sizing up to an XL, but with these I ended up returning the XL and keeping the XXL. Don't let the XXL fool you - these aren't exactly size inclusive. I hate that there is no standard for women's clothing sizes, and it only seems to get worse in the cycling apparel industry. I have an athletic build with big strong thighs, and some days I do wonder if I'm going to hulk out of these. It feels like these were designed for someone with a small, very straight figure before they were arbitrarily sized up. They aren't super great for curves, but they feel like they fit, and I have gotten several compliments, but these could stand to be roomier for normal curves. On a positive note, I do love how lightweight these are - they're great for summer mountain biking. These do NOT have a liner, which I didn't initially love (especially for the price), but I have come to appreciate. I will probably pick up another pair of these in a different color, but I would love to see a slight redesign of this style.

Excellent “hot weather” MTB shorts!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Bought these 3 weeks ago and have worn several times! I’m 5’6”, 145-150 lbs w/ an athletic build and got a large for liners to be able to fit underneath. I have been looking for shorts with vents and these do - so great! I probably could have worn a medium as they are relaxed through the butt/hips but I was so excited to find these BC shorts I kept them. Even on sale! Great material, washes beautifully and dry quickly. I Will use these for bike and hiking. My daughter even bought a pair after she saw them!

Poor pocket placement, nice material
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
These are a nice material and fit (though they seem to run a little small so size up if you order) but the pocket placement is a big bummer. No side pockets, only front pockets, I definitely couldn't put anything useful in the pockets while riding. I like to be able to go on short rides with no pack, I rely on my pockets, so I returned these.

Cute and comfy
- Familiarity:

Love these shorts! They fit well and are flattering. They are higher waisted than some of the other shorts I tried on which I like. They have a little belt you can adjust but they are pretty snug on me already. The only slightly weird thing about them is they have lots and lots of holes for breathability which are a little awkward if you don't wear a chamois underneath. I'll buy more when they come out with more colors.

Runs very small
I’m a true medium and couldn’t not even get these to button. It seems every year they redesign these shorts and they get smaller. Nice material and better clasp than years past, but size up.

I want these to work
I love these shorts. Except not for me. Not purchase every time. I have tried this same style on on three seasons in a row, hoping the fit would change. I love everything everything about them, except for the fit on me. I’ve never bought a pair bc they aren’t right. Fabric (lightweight, stretchy, seemingly durable) and design are so awesome. Fit: more for someone with hourglass figure. The waist is too tight, or the hips are too large. @Backcountry: could you make same short with alternative fits?

These are the lightest and most comfortable pair of mountain bike shorts I have ever owned. Will be buying them in other colors. Sizing was perfect

Ride Up
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
These are cute shorts and fit well. But when riding, they ride up your leg and bunch up. So not comfortable. I hate to send them back, but I can't ride with shorts like this.
